FAQ: Manually Overriding Automatic Exclusion of a Course in SPOT
Is there a way to manually override the automatic exclusion of a course in SPOT?
Certain courses and instructors are excluded from the SPOT process automatically. Automatic exclusions are based on these rules:
- The following types of courses are excluded: 5904 and 6904 (i.e., graduate project and report), X944 (seminars), X964 (field study), X974 (independent study), and X994 (undergraduate research).
- Any instructor who has 10% or less of the teaching load in a course is excluded. Then, after the 10% or less rule is applied, courses with more than four instructors are excluded.
To override the automatic exclusion of a course, contact the Registrar's office (firstname.lastname@example.org). Provide the Course Reference Number (CRN) for each course section that should be added back into the SPOT system.
