Where does the data for SPOT come from, and who maintains it?


The SPOT system relies upon the Banner teaching load data for course and instructor information. Departments maintain the records. The deadline to update this information for purposes of the SPOT system is approximately 3-4 weeks prior to when the SPOT questionnaire is made available to students. For details on how to update the relevant data in Banner, see the Verifying Course Data document below.

NOTE: Banner teaching load is the data source for fall and spring semesters, but because it is not maintained regularly in the summer, we use course lists and instructor names from the Banner timetable during summer sessions.
